Music Assistant 2.7 - Taking over the airwaves

It’s in music assistant not home assistant

Ah found it

But when I remove ‘When group active’ from the individual players, and select an individual player, music plays on all speakers regardless.
I’m then unable to play on just one player.

You have to go down to the speaker and remove it from the “sync”. If you don’t want the group active then it should be stopped and then they won’t be synced anymore

I’ve tried the suggestions above, but cannot get it to work, so I guess it’s either my inexperience with HA/MA, or wait to see if it becomes an option with the new Sendspin protocol when it becomes available ↓

Just updated to 2.7.6. I use the web interface directly rather than via Home Assistant. I really like the design changes - clearer colour scheme and a helpful pop up to advise the currently selected speaker.

I also noticed that the Music Assistant home page loads a lot faster than in 2.7.5.

Really happy with this release.

This part is really too big and takes up too much space!

My fat thumbs disagree.

at least the possibility of choosing the size…
It’s not that the buttons are very big… there’s a lot of unused space.

On Plexamp I have a more general choice and selection with about 40% of albums or songs visible… besides the fact that the size of the keys is practically the same. (I don’t know if this could depend on the type of resolution and display of your smartphone)

Hi
Anyone has trouble with bbc sounds after recent upgrade to MA 2.7.6 ?
It was working, but I now get a message “name playablessoundstypes” is undefined
I have to delete my account name and password in the config to have the provider load.
Im fairly sure the username and password are correct.
Does anyone have any more detail about this error - or a better place to look for a more detailed error message ?
Thx

I just got an “advertisement” TTS announcement on my Sonos speaker mid song. “This is Music Assistant from Music Assistant” why!? - please no. Please no.

This is not in the code of Music Assistant itself. Maybe Sonos doing something?

You sure you’re not doing something with TTS in HA?

I am playing music 24/7 over AirPlay and never heard any message.

I’m using it without any such problems.

I just had it once so far last week. Will keep an ear open for it happening again. I updated HA and Music Assistant to latest versions last week also. And nope, not doing anything in HA/TTS that I’m aware of. Really weird…

Do you maybe have something enabled in terms of Accessibility features? Where the Sonos speaker can read aloud the source of a track? Because I have seen Music Assistant as ‘Source’ when I use Google Cast instead of AirPlay. AirPlay doesn’t seem to know anything about the source of the AirPlay stream from what I can see.

Has anyone found a way to accomplish the following:

I want to cast a MA dashboard to a Nest Hub, and when cast it should be a specific users MA dashboard.

I’ve tried casting the remote MA dashboard, but the Nest Hub doesn’t have a virtual keyboard to type on, so I can’t log in with that. And embedding the ingress dashboard in HA and casting that doesn’t seem to work.

Has anyone figured out some way to do this?

Good point! No idea. Now that I think of it, I’m not 100% sure if the voice was Amazon Polly (HA source) or Sonos. I haven’t heard it since, but I’ll try to find the source if it ever pops up again. I’m already happy to know this isn’t built into Music Assistant, because that would have been instant closure for me.

All just blank.
