Music_assistant/play_media action not work after 2026.8.0 Upgrade

After upgrading to 2026.8.0 I discovered that I am unable to change the media playing from Music Assistant. Can browse all of the media but cannot change what is playing. I can change what is playing in Music Assistant. Below is the error when I attempt to change the playing media.

Failed to perform the action music_assistant/play_media. Admin access required.

Tried completely uninstalling Music Assistant including removing the app data. After a system and HAOS reboot I reinstalled Music Assistant. Still have the same issue. Can broswe all media but cannot play it from Home Assistant.

Any direction would be appreciated.

I generally would not advise it for most Apps/Integrations, but the MA beta version is worth installing!

10:18 AM US-EST…Music assistant now working as per usual. Issue resolved with no action on my part.

So are you saying the beta version of Music Assistant resolves the issue?

Has anyone tried the updated Music Assistant [2.9.11] - 07.08.2026, does it fix this issue?

EDIT: The updated Music Assistant [2.9.11] - 07.08.2026 resolved the issue of Failed to perform the action music_assistant.play_media. Admin access required

Same issue here. The Admin User is the Admin user for Music Assistant. When you enable remote access for Music Assistant you need to login with that account.
I don’t know how to resolve this, but it’s my guess that it’s related to the port change from 8123 to 80.
