I installed Music Assistant and added Youtube Music as a provider. I was able to copy the cookie thing and its working. My issue is in Youtube Music I have two profiles. Like it has my email address then my name profile and the other is sorta like a username with @ in front of the username. I use the @user profile for all my playlists and favorites and that stuff, but Music Assistant only displays the playlists and favorites and stuff for the profile that is my name. I don’t know how to specify which profile Music Assistant should use. I thought I could use just the @user profile as the Username in Music Assistant but I only got errors. I have seen that some people have had their Youtube Music accounts messed up and get locked while trying to get it to work with Music Assistant, so I’m very worried and don’t want to keep trying different things and risk getting locked out. Any help yall can provided would be greatly appreciated. Maybe there is a way to get the name profile to sync with the @user profile?
Of course, right after I post this I double check the setup instructions and find the solution.
Using brand accounts
A brand account is a sub-account that lives under your main Google account. You need to find your brand account id if you want to login using your brand account.
- Go to https://myaccount.google.com/
- From the top right menu, select your brand account
- Look at the URL and copy the 21-digit number
- Use this number in the ‘Username’ field when setting up the provider
