I would like to add a music player interface/card to a dashboard where I can control music playback of files that are stored either in the HA server or a USB memory attached to it. I would like to play mp3/flac files either through the tablets speakers or through a bluetooth speaker. Is this possible to achieve in a relatively easy way? I just found out about music assistant but I’m not sure if that’s relevant here.
Home Assistant will need a media_player entity to target… AFAIK there isn’t a way to play directly from the dashboard.
Music Assistant can share media players with HA, but you will likely need to set up a player on your tablet. I use SqueezePlayer on my Android devices, but if you want a free option you can use Kodi to create a DLNA player.
