My Shelly Pro 3EM Installation Experience

Have jumped on the Home Assistant/Smart Home bandwagon. My only experience before is installing two TED1000/1001 energy monitors in two other homes.

While waiting for Pro 3EM to arrive did the normal thing and watched several Youtube videos on Pro 3EM.

The Shelly video for US installation showed connecting power from Phase A to C terminal then connect CTC to Phase A and IC terminal, then CTA to Phase B and IA terminal. N to neutral bar. Sounds screwy, right?

Bugged me all night… decided to change to what sounds most logical… Everything A to A and everything B to B then C to Phase A for power.

Was showing negative Power values (generating) even though Arrow on CT’s were pointing to L (200A panel breaker). Flipped and letting it ride. (Did find in app where to flip reading.).

Have compared kWh from Shelly app to Smart Meter Texas values. Shelly app shows 24.5kWh and 26.4kWh for Day 1 and Day 2 respectively. Smart Meter Texas shows 24.7kWh and 26.5kWh. Very happy with that!

What next? Since long term goal is to reduce energy cost, going to concentrate on sealing up house from drafts then more efficient AC/Heat control. Thanks for reading.
