Naming conbee zigbee devices, and getting them in HA

Hi All

I’m just getting started with conbee. I’ve been running ikea for quite a while, and now I want to slowly move it to conbee, and get rid of the IKEA hub.
I’ve addeed 5 zigbee sensors so far, and they are working great, still got a few to go.

However, when I add them, they are open/close sensor 1, open/close sensor 2, open/close sensor 3 etc.
I rename them in conbee, but the new names are not updated in HA.
Not until I delete the sensors in HA under the entities, and reboot HA.
But is that really the best way?
I know it’s only during setup that I will encounter this, but it is still kinda, hmmm… :slight_smile:

You could stop HA, connect your sensor in Phoscon, rename the sensor and then start HA again.

:smiley: That is kinda what I do, I just reboot HA, instead of stop/start (I know I delete them as well, but…) :wink:

Shouldn’t running deconz.device_refresh service help?
I also noticed some inconsistency - name given in deconz sometimes is reflected as entity name (for IKEA bulbs) or as entity friendly name (for Aquara sensors) :open_mouth:
