Naming of helper types consistency

It may be a translation issue, but I’m not sure.

If I add a helper in Settings/Helper (english original guessed, I’m using German) I get a selection of the different helpers to be created which does not look sorted at all. I then looked in the list of helpers I have because it should be the same like an existing helper. This existing helper was type “Auswahl-Eingabe” in the list. But I needed to select “Dropdown-Menü”.

If I click on that helper, there is nowhere shown which type it is.

So it is:

  • When creating, Dopdown-Menü
  • When listing, Auswahl-Eingabe
  • When opened, shown nowhere
  • Used internally some type name, probably dropdown or similar

I’d like to have one name for the type being selected/shown everywhere to minimize guessing what is meant. Preferably the one that is used in all languages, just a type name like in programming languages int, string, number, whatever. English would be fine. Having different translations being used for the same thing in different places is confusing.

Good thought. Don’t forget to vote for your own FR.

“Input Select” e.g.

input_select.house_mode

At least in English it has gotten slightly better than it used to be:

But toogle is switch and many, if not most, will be named differently.
I have fallen i to this too, so voted!

That has nothing to do with the information I was providing. They wanted to know what a drop down helper domain was.

And a “toggle” helper is not a switch it is an input boolean.

Ahh, sorry and to my confusion about the toggle, then It proves the point.
