Nanoleaf Floor Lamp

Has anyone had any luck installing the Nanoleaf app after installing the Nanoleaf floor lamp. When the device is installed through Matter, HA Device Discover notifies me that the device needs to be added to the Nanoleaf app, I click add then get this: ‘Press and hold the power button on your Nanoleaf for 5 seconds until the button LEDs start flashing, then select Submit within 30 seconds.’ which doesn’t work and make no sense about the flashing LED, as there are no LED’s on the buttons. I did hold the power button but nothing happened, and get this error Nanoleaf is not allowing new tokens, follow the instructions above. Any help much appreciated. Mark

Just to add: I wanted the Nanoleaf app so I could trigger scene to have some colour during the day

Hi there! Ever find a solution to this? Best I can figure out is how to connect via Matter, which isn’t particularly useful.

As a note, I also tried pressing the “Connect to API” button in the app before trying to connect via the Nanoleaf integration, but that didn’t work either.

Thanks!

Hi, sorry NO, I’ve given up as all I got from Nanoleaf support is gas lighting. I did try the “Connect to API” too with no joy.

Bummer - thanks for the response! Unfortunately, this light is pretty useless if I have to set the reactive scenes via their app… (the one consolation is that I got it for $60 during a promo, but still disappointing)

Edit: I figured I’d try my luck and see if I happen to get a better agent - just submitted a ticket about this, and I’ll report back in the unlikely scenario they are actually able to help!

I have found the API documentation ( Nanoleaf Matter WiFi Essentials Open API Documentation - Nanoleaf Open API Documentation - Confluence) to it, and it seems to be working via PostMan (note: you need to find the nanoleaf’s IP by manually using a Bonjour discovery tool).

Does anyone one know if we can create a light element that would send the right commands to the API?

I have two Nanoleaf Floor Lamps, several Nanoleaf A19 Bulb (Matter), Nanoleaf Aurora, Govee LED. I was able to control their effects through HA using these devices’ APIs. One scene sets the properties of each light source.

Anyone have luck getting the Floor Lamp synced to HA? As expected, Nanoleaf support was useless.

@Kaputmaher can you share how you were able to get the devices connected with the API? Shapes connected to HA as expected, but the Floor Lamp keeps giving me an “unexpected error”.

You need to add the floor lamp as new network device via the nanoleaf integration. There, paste your lamp’s ip address (find out in your router) and enable the LAN-API in the nanoleaf app. This way all the features will work within HA!

Yeah, unfortunately, still getting the same error from HA: “Nanoleaf is not allowing new tokens, follow the instructions above.”

I confirmed the IP address and selected “Connect to API” in the Nanoleaf app ahead of attempting to add to HA.
