These bridges can be expensive, and many rely on cloud services for initial setup or ongoing operation, which undermines local control.
The CC1101 is an inexpensive and widely available RF transceiver module that can connect directly via GPIO to the device running home assistant. Native support for this module in Home Assistant would provide a cost-effective, cloud-free solution for controlling RF devices locally.
