I know that there is a workaround for the Ledvance device localkey discovery using ADS. Given the low cost and the wide availability, could Ledvance products be natively supported? Although the current process works, it is quite cumbersome.
No experience on ledvance, but generally speaking, if an integration is cumbersome, it is because the vendor does not make a proper API available, so hacks and workarounds are used to provide you access via HA.
Please open a feature request to the vendor…
I will give that a shot.
Here is the response from the manufacturer.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us,
Our WiFi system is an own system separated from Tuya. So, our products working only with the LEDVANCE SMART+ WiFi app.
Currently we are not working on a Home Assistant integration.
I send you request to our developer team.
We currently do not have a public API for individual customers, for security reasons.
So don’t have any API/provide any key for it (wifi products).
For Zigbee, it depends on the gateway used whether it has an API or not. Here you can see our open OTA FW for zigbee devices:

Thank you
Best regards,
Martin Chobot
Heh, you have your answer…
Don’t use ledvance or live with the workaround while it lasts (they could close the backdoor anytime)
lol, okay thanks.
Uh, that’s a red flag right there.
so, no more any chance to connect LDV WIFI Bulbs to HA ?
Thx for sharing this info.
“for security reasons” we do not like if we have a lot of satisfied customers so that we earn less money. We are fine with that… Better to find excuses for security reasons than have satisfied customers (that can be translated into money).
