So I’ve read a whole lot, and my understanding is the Skyconnect I have, bought in Feb 24, is now called ZBT-1. It Has firmware 7.1.1.0.
I was looking for someone with experience or knowledge, to tell me that running the update through HA that’s popped up to upgrade to 7.4.4.1 will work without zha network loss.

I’m in the same position. Never had any issues of any previous updates in HA, but this is the first time I’ve seen an update for the skyconnect/ZBT-1 dongle itself… And since it’s the most central component of all of my devices - I feel hesitant running the update in case my entire zigbee network would break or have to be re-created. And nearly all I can find when googling about the firmware update as from before talks about usb-flashing new firmware… And in threads with people redoing their entire setup (going to or from multiprotocol etc).
At he same time it seems likely there have been a lot of incremental bug fixes and updates between 7.1.1 and 7.4.4.1
I did find a reddit thread from three days ago with multiple people saying they had updated 7.4.4.0 without issue or breaking their zigbee net. Some people complained about ikea remotes breaking (and I have a lot of those), but it seems like this.1 version pushed a fix for that. Have you bit the bullet and tried the update yet?
Edit: I did the update, and no issues so far. Everything seems to be business as usual and work like it should.
Ok, here’s the deal for me. (This HA is running on a N100, solely.)
I ordered a new ZBT-1 just in case ! I got it today, so I pulled the trigger.
Here’s what I did.
I went into HA, did a download backup of the ZHA integration. Then, I went to configure,
and -DISABLED- ZHA.
I then went to the notifications, where it was telling me it wanted to upgrade the firmware, and I told it ok, do it.
It took about 30-40 seconds, there was a percent countdown from 1-100 (downloading, I assume), then hesitated, (updating I assume), then came back.
I then went straight to ZHA and ENabled it again. Came right up, didn’t forget any devices. (57 devices)
I rebooted HA all the way, it came back up as normal, tested quite a few devices I could toggle or verify state changes manually, (motion, lights, door/window sensors triggered, etc) all works as it appears to have been, correctly.
So, for my experience, as I bought this running Skyconnect in Feb 24, and it had version 7.1.1.0, it DID work for me, with these steps. I read somewhere it was important to DISable zha when updating, so I did.
Now I have an extra, new Skyconnect. We’ll see what I canm do with it later. Thanks for reading this.
