You can use the device directly via the IP or the local network name.
Getting MQTT added to Home Assistant is pretty easy though. I believe you can now use the module without MQTT, though I have not personally tried this.
For what it is worth, MQTT is a great thing to have for automations. I strongly recommend you add it.
Thanks, I thought that installing MQTT just for FAIKIN would be something extra on the system that I wouldnāt use for now (or maybe because I donāt know how to use it because I manage everything even without it⦠but thatās another topic)
I finally decided to buy a complete module for Faikin.
I currently have a BRP069C41 installed, which has 4 wires coming out of it and going to the internal unit with connectors X50A and X35A.
My intention is to replace the pins of the BRO069C41 (where the connection is made up of 5 wires but 4 come out) and install the FAIKIN without touching the X50A and X35A connections inside the unit.
However, I see that the FAIKIN has 5 connection pins. Can I directly replace the BRP069C41 with the FAIKIN or do I have to use the adapter cable (already ordered into the kit ordered) that carries the 5 wires to the internal unit?
(if i am not wring the 5th cable should be the 5V cable)
You can use the BRP069C41 cable. The missing brown wire is the 5V line but you donāt need that as the Faikin can be powered from 12/14V on the blue and yellow wires. Just make sure you get it round the right way
If you scroll way way up you can see my picture of one of the original boards. I had to grab the board with two sets of pliers and break it along the scored lines. I believe the new ones are also scored in this same manner.
Just installed it and it looks fantastic! Being disconnected from the Daikin cloud is the best.
2 questions about this:
I integrated the system with DAIKIN AC integration (without MQTT).
My air conditioner has 3 fan speeds + auto. In the settings I have the option to set āfan speed 3 + AUTOā but in HomeAssistant it remains at 5 speeds. (I rebooted the Daikin and restarted HA but nothing)
One more thingsā¦
if I control the A/C with Faikin HTTP no problem⦠the HA status is updated and Madoka wall control is updated.
if I control the A/C with HA no problem is updated also on the madoka wall control.
If I control the A/C with MADOKA wall controll panel, HTTP is updates but it took about 1 minutes and 30 to update the HA status (not a big problem⦠but should be better to be faster)
