Need Daikin Wifi? Use the Open-Source Faikin ESP32 Hardware instead of the official wifi Modules

If it is listed as supported by Faikin, you are probably good to go. There are multiple ways to hook them up.

They are also cheaper than the genuine Daikin Wifi modules.

When you speak about other ports as s21, which one ? Because I saw other ports but it is on other cards and other version, not on the same one.

There are 3 different connectors mentioned on the Github page:

  • S21
  • X50A
  • X35A

You can use any that are supported for your system, though most common to use is the S21 port.

Iā€™ve received the faikin and seems to not workā€¦ even if it is connected to S21.
No AP wifi seen by my phone or computer from Faikin. No led on it tooā€¦
Seems to not have enough power ???

You may need a different port that provides more power, or check to be certain that you have the wiring correct.

OK, based on Wiring Ā· revk/ESP32-Faikin Wiki Ā· GitHub
I will check it but on the documentation, EKRS21 seems to be OK normally ???

While adapter cables can be sourced (from PAP to EH, such as the EKRS21), it is still possible to build your own.

Looks like it. I built my own cable for the S21 port as it was easiest - at least for me and at the time.

Hi All,

I have been using the Faikin boards for quite some time without any issues. I also disabled the on board cloud wifi modules.
Since Faikin does not report error codes, would it be a good idea to have both the on board and Faikin operating at the same time?

Iā€™m only asking because I am a bit concerned of a firmware pushed by Daikin can change something that Faikin depends on.

Do you believe that the above would be possible please?

In my case, my Daikinā€™s no longer have access to the internet, and I do not apply firmware updates to them. I have a set that are still on the OEM wifi modules, but will be removing those. I personally see zero need for them to have any internet access - as designed, they operate without the need for internet connectivity.

Agreed.

I am only interested in the error codes as a Faikin does not support them (currently at least).
There is nothing else I need from the daikin cloud.
