Need Daikin Wifi? Use the Open-Source Faikin ESP32 Hardware instead of the official wifi Modules

Some information about the CN_WIR connector you will find HERE and more comprehensive HERE.

Anyway it might be labeled differently depending on your ac model. If it uses the AWM01A01/ AWM61A01 wifi adapter, then it’s definitely cn_wir

I’ve got boards and various types of cable up for grabs here:
eBay

Hi all, I have a Daikin internal unit FBA71A(9) (EU product) and I’d like to connect to it a faikin board but I don’t know what cable I have to purchase. I send you pic of the FBA71A’s board.I’m from Italy.

TIA, my best

I can’t see all your labels, but I can see a X50A so at first pass, I would hazard a guess that you go with that.

There are both the X50A and the X35A plug on the board…

…Also is there a 3D printed case box for the faikin board available online?!?

Yes! I don’t remember exactly where it is - if you go through the github links for the project you will find it. I don’t own a 3D printer yet, but was able to get them printed by a service. I may have posted links at the very top of this - I can’t recall.

Found it, its in the Github repo:

I simply use 18mm (if Faikin is cut to its smallest possible size) transparent heatshrink tubes for it because all Faikins here are put inside the AC’s covers anyway, thus not visible from the outside. Heatshrink tubes are cheap, easy to get and protect the Faikins well enough against short circuits and excessive moisture.

For X50A you need power from X35A as well.

Check HERE if you prefer to use a ready made cable.

As for the sockets on your PCB you might need a Type C cable. But note there are two types of X50A sockets on Daikin AC PCBs! Just send a picture of the PCB of your Daikin AC to Andrew and he will tell you which exact cable type you need.

Are there any USA retailers of the Faikin yet?

How difficult would it be to get some made here? Trying to get a few for less than $29 + 6 or 7 dollars for the connector + $14 in shipping for a total of about 49 or 50 dollars each.

Is anyone in the US down for a potential group buy?

Ivan, i’m from Italy aswell. I would love to try your solution, can we talk privately? I can’t seem to be able to send you a private message on this forum.

Hi

HASS running on Pi4.

I have some 5 faikin converted units (had to build the boards myself, nice).

There is some strange behavior for a couple of months now, I just cant find out why. No logs at all, but it’s like some time to time devices get a reset or so. All faikin A/cs just beep, on almost every full hour (yes, not all the full hours, but most of them, and when it beeps, its a full hour). Even if they are off. As if they received a command to repeat the state they are in. They beep with just a very little delay between them, in sequence. All off, then beep all, still off.

It all seems as if home assistant recycled itself, but I find nothing in mosquitto or HASS logs.

Anyone?

What specific boards are you using?

Maybe those boards are not compatible? It doesn’t seem like a HA problem after all.

I would bring this up either at the Issue Reports or at Discussions with the GitHub page of the developer.

I’ve got Faikins w/paired BLE temp sensors on all of my split systems.
For the time being, most of my household uses the stock Daikin IR remotes to change the temperature target on a unit. I’d like to reference the external BLE sensors, over the rubbish internal Daikin readings, for greater accuracy.

Does anyone know the settings to make this possible?

I’ve messed around with Faikin-auto mode, but changing the temp on the remote has no impact on the faikin auto target temp.

There was a Faikin firmware update on 5/5/25 to implement a new parameter

  • Added nohourly to disable hourly S21 poll (apparently some units beep!)
