Need help to make an automation with Aeotec Multisensor 6

I’m pretty fresh when it comes to programming so I need some help :flushed:
I just bought an Aeotech multisensor 6 and need help creating an automation to turn on light at low LUX value. and turn off the light at high LUX value.

I also wonder what these sensors are / can be used for?

  • Aeotec ZW100 MultiSensor 6 Alarm Level
  • Aeotec ZW100 MultiSensor 6 Alarm Type

(running Hassbian 0.65.3 on RP3)

I use the Aeotec ZW100 MultiSensor 6 Alarm Type for a motion trigger, 0 to 8 when motion is detected. It is very sensitive but will only fire about every 30 seconds, the interval maybe able to be changed, but I haven’t tried to change it.

With me it is the sensor.aeotec_zw100_multisensor_6_burglar that responds by motion. By motion it goes to 8 and by vibration it goes to 3.

Aeotec ZW100 MultiSensor 6 Alarm Type never changes from 0

You are correct, I check the automation that I am using and I used the burglar one also. I tried the type at first but had changed it. It hell to get old :worried: worse not to.

@bengt For the motion trigger, you should have a sensor called:

binary_sensor.aeotec_zw100_multisensor_6_sensor

And for the luminance, you should have a sensor called:

sensor.aeotec_zw100_multisensor_6_luminance

Simple automation.

automation:
  - alias: turn on a light / switch
    initial_state: 'on'
    trigger:
      platform: numeric_state
      entity_id: sensor.aeotec_zw100_multisensor_6_luminance
      below: "lux value"
    action:
      service: homeassistant.turn_on
      entity_id: "light / switch entity"

  - alias: turn off a light / switch
    initial_state: 'on'
    trigger:
      platform: numeric_state
      entity_id: sensor.aeotec_zw100_multisensor_6_luminance
      above: "lux value"
    action:
      service: homeassistant.turn_off
      entity_id: "light / switch entity"

Thank you ! Works perfect :+1:
