You mean turning it off as in the controller can turn off the lights but still have power? Yes.
Yes. As in the controller telling the strips to turn off knocks them off (via the data channel) was what I meant.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that each LED would boost the data signal so it shouldnât matter how long the strip is (probably up to a max addressable data limit - 8bit, 16bit, etc). So voltage drop on the data channel shouldnât be an issue.
But I canât remember where I saw that so I could be completely wrong.
