Neewer RGB660 WIFI Controller (small electronics project using Home Assistant and ESPHome)

I finally had time to look into the issue of the lights turning off when the same command is sent to them twice and I believe I have a fix.

I have added some more technical details in the Github issue.

You can update the firmware on your Neewer Controller by following the Flash firmware from binary steps outlined in the documentation.

Note, if you are using litiu’s component directly with custom YAML, you may want to switch to using my forked version. I’ve sent a pull request to litiu’s repository, but I’m not sure how long it will take for it to get merged.

I noticed I never responded to this specific part, @alexp1:

Yes, this came up before. Since the Neewer Controller firmware is specifically intended to be used with the Neewer Controller hardware module living on the back of a light, I don’t think I will add the ability to pair multiple lights with it.

If you are already running an instance of ESPHome and are comfortable writing your own firmware YAML, a lot of the additional features of the firmware (i.e. being able to pair a light at runtime vs at build time) aren’t that valuable anyway.

Also, Neewer Controllers are back in stock on my Tindie store!

If you have been thinking about buying one, now is probably the right time. There’s a good chance that I will have to raise the price on the next batch to offset increased prices due to tariffs :-/

I inspired by this… unfortunatly it didn’t work for me so I created simple thing to work with my Neewer RGB1200

Added the Neewer SNL660 as well

Restocked supply on my Tindie store once again. The latest production run has a significantly lower profile and is more efficient due to a custom power supply for the ESP32 on the board itself.

I sadly had to up the price point due to increased costs from tariffs. This may be my last production run if tariffs done come off again. The economics are really tough.
