I’d like to share a project I’ve been working on: NeonPlan 3D, a custom integration that turns your home into a live 3D floor plan, right inside Home Assistant.

How it works

  1. Install it through HACS (custom repository for now, it’s submitted to the default list) and add the integration.
  2. Draw your home in the built-in editor: floors, rooms (rectangles or free shapes), walls, doors, windows, stairs, furniture and a roof. No external tools, no cloud.
  3. Link the rooms to your HA areas – lights, covers, sensors and devices are found automatically.
  4. Use it as a sidebar panel or as a dashboard card (custom:neonplan3d-card), also on wall tablets.

What it shows and controls

  • Lights glow in their real colour and brightness; tap to switch, swipe to dim, long press for colours
  • Covers move to their position, windows tilt and open, doors swing
  • Room panel with everything of the room’s area
  • Heatmap for temperature, humidity and CO₂ (°C and °F)
  • Cameras with their field of view, red while they detect motion
  • Devices like TVs, washers and radiators glow while they run
  • Robot vacuum drives through the room it reports as cleaning
  • Warnings for smoke, gas, water, alarm and windows open in the rain
  • Parking spots where your car appears when it’s home
  • Three looks (Neon, Blueprint, Day), sunlight from sun.sun, kiosk mode with idle return and night dimming

Free and open source

The integration and everything listed above are free and MIT licensed. There are optional furniture packs and Pro add-ons for people who want more, but they’re not needed for any of the core features.
