I have recently switched my ha installation to run over Proxmox on a!HP elite mini 800 .
The Proxmox and HA installation have dropped out 3 times in the last couple of days, about once every 12 hours.
The PC looks ok and still has console access so it appears to be software or network (card) related. Has anyone had experience of this and more importantly - a fix ?
Not a lot of information. My guess is it’s network related. Either DHCP reneval or E1000E driver issues. I’d take a look at ha network info and ha host logs.
Thanks. i have done a fair bit of troubleshooting to correct bios issues - I think - but its just failed again. A lot of the devices sit on reserved ip addresses and the internet connection is static. Local dns is set at 8.8.8.8
However. One thing that is a concern is heavy saturation on the 2.4ghz channel. Eero nodes showing 60% other device interference.
I need to check the zigbee dongle in case for some reason it changed channel in the changeover but a much smaller box was handling this no problem until I upgraded to the hp and installed Proxmox. I may need to consider reverting to bare metal to get the Proxmox layer out of the diagnosis

Do these drop outs only affect HA or also PVE or other guests? How is WiFi related here?
2.4GHz channel saturation is largely a myth. WiFi and Zigbee protocols are designed to handle data collisions.
I only run bare-metal here on an Intel NUC i3. I measure my uptime in years; only rebooting for some updates. I neither need nor want the complications that containers and virtual operating systems introduce.
I run on a HP 800 elitedesk DM (I think G3 or G4) as well, its a great little server for HA. Bare metal is preferred, especially with USB devices like radios. Solid for me.

Its an Eero Pro6E and i dont have the data to see if this was introduced during last FW ugrade.
There are 5 eeros at the property. I need to get this to a stage where I can really diagnose the Proxmox drop issue - anyone recommend a good wifi channel analyzer ? - interference my be coming from adjacent properties

You’re using WiFi for your HA server instead of ethernet? Or are you just concerned that your eero AP’s are conflicting with Zigbee?

No. HA is hard-wirrd ethernet.

Difficult. The other VM’s are not loaded yet. But in my view. Proxmox disconnects and that takes down HA a few seconds later
I’m a bit confused, you say you have Wi-Fi issues and you are using HA hard wired, not sure how you can have both. There is a well known issue with E1000 Nic driver and offloading, the link below throws a bit of light on if you are not aware of it, but won’t help with whatever Wi-Fi issues you have.
Dont be confused. There are two issues
1 The HA drop out is real. Ive gone through the fixes for the nic, but in my case the problem seems worse, I will revisit with the details in the doc as a double check.
Ive just bought a usb ethernet dongle to help the diagnosis
In my view the only real change following the migration is the introduction of proxmox - I obviously would like to fix both issues.
