Network Flow Card - Visualise your local network!

Switches are supported, is there any specific brand/integration you need for switches?

It doesnt find SRM, not sure exactly what integration you are looking for? the only one for SRM itself is just a device tracker. I have the router specifics pulled in via uPNP and mostly SNMP. It also doesnt auto discover my template speedtest sensors which pull in from my docker that runs that service. Im playing around with the newest version, trying to figure what to put and where.

I downloaded this integration in the hope that it would find many of my devices automatically. I have a simple network - ISP supplied router with lots of tplink plug and camera devices and Sonos. Unfortunately nothing was found automatically - am I missing something? Does it require a specific router brand(s)?

Are any of them exposed to HA? It only finds devices which have been added to HA via a separate integration sorry

Network Flow Card 3.3.0 — what’s new

The big one this release is Monitoring: pull Uptime Kuma, Gatus, UptimeRobot, and Ping straight onto the diagram as their own badges and circles, not just tucked into router integrations. Auto-discovery finds them for you, and each service can sit above Internet as “External,” join Clients as “Internal,” or badge onto any device already on your card.

Also in this release:

  • Secondary Internet — a real second WAN, with Active/Active or Active/Standby failover. In standby, the backup line stays still and dashed until your primary actually drops, then it goes solid and starts flowing automatically.
  • Real-time Download/Upload, sourced straight from your router (auto-filled for FRITZ!Box, pfSense, ASUSWRT, and AsusRouter) — now the default first two Summary badges.
  • Card Size — Compact, Fit to Width, or a manual Scaled percentage, built for fitting a big network onto a phone screen. Plus a Horizontal Scroll toggle (now working properly in both directions) and a global Hide Names override.
  • Keyword search on every Auto-Discovery list, alongside the existing integration filters.
  • New discovery support for ASUSWRT, UniFi Network Map, UniFi Device Info, and ha-openwrt — a much more capable alternative to Home Assistant’s bare built-in OpenWrt integration, smart enough to tell a real router apart from a device just acting as an extra Access Point.
  • Synology SRM and Netgear devices can now be added as an Access Point instead of a Router, for anyone running them in bridge/AP mode rather than as the main gateway.
  • A pile of squashed bugs: UniFi discovery missing most switches, Proxmox VE misreading the popular HACS variant, offline detection now catching “down” (Kuma/UptimeRobot’s own word for it), and a fixed T-bar connector that used to just vanish instead of showing an X when something’s offline.

Confirming discovery for Unifi Network and Adgard Home.

My setup so far:

What I miss: The Unifiy network integration does not provide an attribute for wired clients. Wireless clients (only connected ones) have an attribute with the SSID. I’d love to have a connection override for each client and furthermore an option to choose the switch/router where the client is wired to.

My router is a Dream Router 7 which has an integrated wifi AP. At the moment I do run multiple SSIDs and VLANs, but no additional APs. I think this is a very common setup in smart homes.
In the card editor the switch and the APs are on the same level, but not in the card. Is it possible to move them in line with the switch?

You can override the group for each client, as well as select the router/switch is it connected to.

In client menu you will see a grouping section which allows you to change the grouping by SSID, VLAN and Connected Device. If it doesn’t auto group as needed, then open up each client and you will see a Group Override Name field per client. Put in what you need it to look like and it will create new boxes with those names as needed.

v4 coming soon with support for a hyperbolic tree view, tablet support, details panel view and more integrations supported. v4.0.0-beta.8 available for download now for anyone who wants to test!

Just checked out the beta, I love the hyperbolic tree and the node details view.

Network Flow Card v4.0.0: Hyperbolic tree view and a details panel for every device

v4.0.0 is a major release. The classic Flat diagram is still there and looks as it did, and there’s now a second way to see your network.

New: Hyperbolic view

  • An explorable, zoomable tree of your whole network. The router sits at the centre and everything else fans out from it.
  • Drag to pan, pinch or use +/− to zoom, tap a node to centre it, and tap it again to open it.
  • Every device type is a node: Internet (with its quota ring), router, LAN, switches, access points, servers with their VMs and containers, individual clients, monitored services, and an “Unknown” node for clients that can’t be placed.
  • Clients can attach to the access point or switch they’re connected on, or sit in groups.
  • Styling options: node sizes, outline and background colours, an optional frosted-glass style, and colours for the offline “!” badge and dotted line.
  • It works on phones and tablets/desktop. On a tablet/desktop the tree can fit the screen height exactly.

New: Details panel (both views)

  • Pick any node to see its state, live throughput, IP addresses (WAN, LAN, device), and VPN, firewall and DNS-filtering status.
  • Graphs for throughput, CPU and memory, and per-client download and upload, with selectable time ranges and live updating. Graph colours are configurable.
  • Switches: per-port PoE values.
  • Homelab servers (Proxmox, Portainer): CPU, RAM and network figures, plus a Services list showing “17 of 19 online” style counts for VMs and containers.
  • Clients: per-client connection details.
  • A Device Page button that opens the device in Settings → Devices.
  • A pop-up mode, so the panel opens as a sheet over the card instead of taking up space. It works on phones and tablets.
  • A Summary card with up to six badges, which you can place at the top or bottom, or beside the diagram on wide layouts.

Auto-Discovery additions (experimental, needs testing!)

  • MikroTik (core, MikroTik Router and MikroTik Extended) and OPNsense, with real-time throughput and WAN IP where available.
  • UniFi Device Info.

Also in this release

  • The Layout page is rebuilt into collapsible sections.
  • All the new panels can be styled with card_mod.
  • There is a brand-new README and HOWTO, including a card_mod styling guide with examples.

Upgrading
Existing configs keep working, and Flat remains the default view. Switch to Hyperbolic from the Layout page.

Full details are in the CHANGELOG and HOWTO on GitHub. Feedback and bug reports are welcome, submit through my Github so I can track. Screenshots help a lot, especially details on integrations you use, attributes of sensors/devices etc.

Bonjour

This card looks fantastic ans the layout is much nicer than alternatives that i found (by far)

I do have a question though.
I am using netalertX to import thr inventory of my network devices via the device_tracker entities that are created in HA (usiNg the mqtt plugin in the metalertx addin which run on my HA Green)
I can see a ling list of router like integratiom to be scanned by the card to auto discover.
Would it be poasible to add the device_tracker domain so those entities from netalertx are scanned to populate the card ?
Note: this would make the card agnostic of the imtegration / upstream router setup.
Also the device_tracker entities created contain as atrributes all the data needed (parent_id, VLAN, SSID, etc… imported from netalertx via the mqtt adon)

Anyway, wonder if the community would not benefit from this ?

Best

A quick query, upgraded to the latest beta and found that the Wired section for clients has disappeared. Haven’t changed the config. Any ideas on what I might check?

Happy to include! Mind PM’ing me a screenshot of the entities and attributes of each that this integration creates? This will help me make sure it captures everything possible in discovery.

Good pick up, fixing now.

try v4.1.0-beta.8, it should have fixed this issue.

Hi, just given that a go and still shows the same i.e. no Wired. Let me know if there is anything I can test to shed some light on what is wrong.

Thanks for being so reactive
With hundreds of users of netalertx around, you are possibly going to please a nice crowd.

Will do this late next week as i am away for some days.

Try 4.1.0-beta.12 when you do test it out, it attempts to be clever and try and categorise devices so not sure how successful it will be :face_with_spiral_eyes:
