Network Storage Question

Hey everyone. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some clarification on how a network media share works in HA OS.

So, I created a media share on my Synology NAS for Frigate storage. Everything works fine however when I SMB mount //NAS/Home Assistant/frigate the files are identical to when I SMB mount //HA/media/frigate. My question is, am I misunderstanding how a network media share in HA works or is it writing to both the NAS and HA? Is it actually in that when I mount the HA frigate location I’m actually seeing the NAS frigate location that that the Frigate add on is writing to?

Thanks for any clarification as I’ve always been a little “iffy” with how HA manages media_dirs.

yes, it is simply a volume mount so it will show at that location but it is only writing to the NAS
