I know there is a lot that could lead to variations in traffic statistics, but I was surprised to see 1.5Gb of data used overnight by my HA server (as an experiment I just turned on logging with a new router I bought).
Is this pretty common to what others see or is this alarming?
I have 2 traffic cameras, 1 device tracker, several door points, and weather info currently.
Yes - I found the external cameras updating all the time chew a fair boit of data.
I had a weather radar with 10 frames on loop and it was using about that.
Data usage seems to vary. Not sure if it depends on if HA is serving that tab to a client somewhere (ie my tablet in the house or desktop at work).
I disabled the radar and weather external site cameras and usage came way down - I still have an internal IP camera that I use but I guess it is not having to load data from the internet constantly to be updated.
Based off of what you said, I added a 60 second scan_interval to the images and have been able to greatly reduce the network traffic!! Thanks for responding!!
