“Automatic backup could not be created”
My “automatic” backup failed last night. Probably because one can NOT schedule the automatic backup at your own preference, but for some mysterious reason it must be 4:45 for everyone on the planet. Well, that happens to be the time, once a month, my router restarts. No access to the remote backup location. -
You get the “repair” message under “settings” … shouldn’t that be a “notification”
-
Why is there no way to “repair now” , but only a message that it will be attempted again at the next schedule time?
-
So I go to “show all backups” and try to create a manual backup.
- backup now
- Manual backup
- Next
I need to provide a name… ok
then for locations, I can either choose “ALL(2)” or “Custom”
But wait a minute… I only HAVE one backup location enabled in the backup settings. The button for “This system” is OFF
So, in order to get my saved preference (backing up to only my remote location) I must choose Custom??
-
So now I have a manually created backup on both my remote storage and on “this system”. I want to delete the on from this system.
click the three dots next to the backup in the list. click delete… there is NO choice which one to delete. -
Why is there no option to create a backup right before installing an update. (Like there was a few weeks ago) Seems to me (and in my experience) the most likely time you ever want a backup, is right after something goes bad during an update.
Backups, because they are vital, should be easy to manage and not be a maze that needs navigating.
