New Build - Hardware Recommendations

So it’s time for an upgrade as my current system no longer can fulfil my storage requirements due to lacking any extra m.2 slots so looking to upgrade which will most probably be a whole new platform/system so looking here for some advice on what to go for and possibly even some examples of what you have that could work for me.

So firstly my current system, its a micro atx Asus B550m-plus board running a Ryzen 5700g, 32gb ram. I’ve got a coral in the x1 PCIe slot, got a 4way m.2 card in the x16 slot but due to bifurcation limitations using a 5700g I’ve only got 2 cards in it at the moment, got an intel X550-T2 in the other x16 slot.

So requirements/wants/needs:
Must be a micro atx platform
Need to be able to use the intel NIC or have 10gb built into new mobo
Minimum 6 m.2 slots but more would be good (at least 2 on mobo then can use 4 way card in pcie slot providing bifurcation supports it)
Would prefer to keep the PCIe coral but open to getting a USB one if it makes things easier not having the card take up PCIe lanes/slots
Prefer AMD, especially with all the intel 13th/14th gen issues but open to all possibilities
Currently using a couple sata connections but most likely will only need 1, possibly none depending how many M.2 I have available
Prefer Asus boards, bifurcation tables are easy to find but again open to suggestions
Currently using a 5700g so I can use the graphics in Frigate but maybe this is overkill and a standard cpu that doesn’t have bifurcation limits would be the better option for me?

As for what I use the system for, I run proxmox, have haos of course  also run Debian, frigate as 24/7 NVR for multiple cameras, tv server, NAS, backup/storage, all drives are mirrored so I have redundancy

I think that’s everything for now but will add to this post if I need to, anyone have recommendations/help/advice?

Let me know if you find one, because I have been looking for such beast for a NAS. I have found PCIe cards (i think HighPoint SSD7x series can have eight M.2 slots), but they are very expensive.

I have changed my direction with (proper, not USB3.2 Gen 2) USB4 instead. better speed, better product availability, waaaay cheaper, and potentially keep the drives cooler. Before the USB4, i ran down the SFF-8654 path but more expensive and really very niche.

You are running proxmox so different needs, but for my NAS, I plan to just get a mini PC with two or more USB4 ports and use them with external expansion boxes. Two boxes each ~40Gbps, holding X drives of whatever I want.
Slightly better cooling, way lower price, easy fail over, and definitely less tinkering for me.

Low power draw is important for me (on solar), and this gives ~ as low as 28W with NVMes idle, to 99W with active SATAs for my setup.

I’m too new to have a clue about what your options are, but I can say that I just setup HAOS and Frigate on a HP EliteDesk 800 - i7/6700 that has no trouble using the 14TB USB drive I have attached for video storage. It’s only been a few days and I have to better figure out my zones and detections, but everything is going where it should according to telemetry.
