Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a new custom integration I’ve been working on to bring OpenLigaDB data directly into Home Assistant. It is now available to install via HACS!
For those who might not be familiar, OpenLigaDB is a popular open API that provides match schedules, live results, and league tables. While it’s heavily used for German football (Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, etc.), it supports a wide variety of other sports and leagues as well.
Why build another sports integration?
Many of us use the excellent ha-teamtracker integration, which is great for major global sports. However, teamtracker relies on ESPN data, which unfortunately means it does not support the German 3. Liga (3rd division) and some other regional European leagues.
I needed a reliable way to get those specific leagues into Home Assistant, and since OpenLigaDB has excellent coverage for them, I decided to build this integration.
What does it do?
This integration fetches match data for your favorite teams and leagues, creating sensors that provide current standings, upcoming fixtures, and score updates. It works really well if you like to use Jinja2 template sensors to extract specific values or trigger automations (for example, triggering a scene when your team scores).
Installation:
You can easily add it to HACS as a custom repository using this link:

Feedback Wanted!
Since this is brand new, I would love to get some feedback from the community:
-
Are there any attributes or specific data points you feel are missing?
-
How are you displaying sports data in your setup? (I’m always looking for creative dashboard or ApexCharts ideas!)
-
Are you running into any bugs or issues?
Feel free to test it out, drop a comment below, or open an issue/PR on GitHub.
Thanks, and happy automating!
