I have taken the plunge and took delivery of home assistant green today. I have set up most of my lights switches and they can be turned on/off from the dashboard. However, I have some smart plugs which are on the Smart life app which don’t get discovered by home assistant. I do understand this app shared a platform with Tuya. I managed to connect one of my smart bulbs to Tuya and home assistant saw it. I am though struggling to add the other devices from Smart life. My plan, before I start to look at automation is very all of my smart devices onto home assistant. If anyone can help in anyway that would be great. I also need to create aliases for my devices as I still want to use voice commands. Thanks in advance. All in all it went well for day one with my new toy.
Both Smartlife and Tuya work with the Tuya integration. No need to move over your devices from Smartlife to Tuya.
I’m struggling to find devices connected to smart life. Should I need to put them in pairing mode?
If you installed the Tuya integration, and you scanned the qr code in your smartlife app, all supported devices should be visible in HA.
I’ll try again tomorrow
It can actually take some time for Tuya devices to show up in Home Assistant. So just wait - or reload the integration to speed things up.
I’ve had another go and I now have all of my devices in HA. Overall, a pretty painless experience. Next step to try and automate some things. I would still like voice assistant for the automation plus to be able to access HA outside of my local network.
