Thanks, that’s great news, and yes, we need to make them aware of any issues as you pointed out.
I think I’ll get one to test one myself then, based on your feedback.
Do you have any opportunities with 2 or more people and how the sensor works under those conditions.
I know it doesn’t track multiple people individually, but how does it behave?
Cheers!
DF Robot has had a library out for a while. GitHub - DFRobot/DFRobot_HumanDetection. You could have easily found it on their website in the Documentation link in my original post. I’m glad you were able to make it work for your purposes but I would warn you against using AI written code. The reason is that AI is terrible at writing code, I mean really really bad, It basically gave you a really bad replica of the library that DFRobot has. AI has a tendency to imagine things and write the code as it wants to as opposed to how it should be or it will just straight up make things up and invent them out of thin air.
yes i know i pay 35 euros for grok and 25 for chatgpt i know BELEIVE ME i know but i had 0 experience in soldering 3d printing and hardware and micro computers and soc… i am more of a cloud architect guy and with a background electric grid and things that are above 200v not things that are 3 volts and 5v… even soldering in theses micro god d"!##“”# small things it was dificult but live and learn live trying or die stupid
Sorry, I deleted my post before I got your response because I realized it was trash.
I thought it needed an “external component” and not a “custom component”, that is why I sent the original post.
I decided to try using AI to test it (even if it is inaccurate). I ordered it just to mess around with it when it arrives.
Thanks for the information and code, it will help when I attempt to implement it.
Your guide was clear and put together very well so I will use it first. Then I will try to add features if I can.
Cheers.
and what does that library do? it has some code and then what? can you put that in esphome? arduino sucks and i HATE nodered and i HATE MQTT!!! have you use that crap? if you have an error you can just stop you have to recreate everything… if you have the esphome code give us that please
Hi @DEVAXTATOR , I tried to follow your guide, but it starts complaining about custom_components and not being compatible anymore. Did you update the code to make it work on a new version?
I am new to the whole thing, so not sure how to do this myself. Appreciate the help.
hello my friend i am trying to make it work but it wont detect the any fall
i know the code is the issue since i got it installed 2.4 mts up.
ive been very busy trying to get the right code but i cant
2 meters? No man it does not work like that and fall detection only works if it is cooled enough mine gets hot enough to fry eggs… check the parameters of the website it says the exact height for the sensor again get a seed studio it is better
