New HA Green - Add-ons not available under Settings

Disappointed newbie here.

Brand new Home Assistant Green and I’ve run into problems immediately. The Add-ons section is missing from Settings → System, so I can’t install anything.

The system logs show repeated warnings like:

2026-04-09 13:49:52.419 WARNING (SyncWorker_4) [supervisor.addons.validate] Add-on config ‘arch’ uses deprecated values [‘i386’, ‘armv7’]. Please report this to the maintainer of VLC

Is this a known issue with the Green?
Is there a straightforward fix someone can point me at, or should I return it and ask for a replacement?

The devs had the “brilliant” idea to rename addons to apps.

Now all the guides are wrong.

Apps should be listed by itself under settings, along with Devices not down inside of System.

VLC should of loaded the 64 Bit version. 32 Bit support has been dropped!

Open your Home Assistant instance and show the app store.

Thanks for your combined help. I’d have preferred a :+1: rather than a  to like your replies but couldn’t work out how to do that either. I’ll get there - eventually.

Now knowing what you have told me, I’ll see if I can figure out where I’m at. Watch this space…

Fix should be in progress. See here Warning: SyncWorker_5 for all App's (Add-Ons) since 2026.4.0 · Issue #6702 · home-assistant/supervisor · GitHub

Thanks for all your responses. It turns out I was chasing a problem that didn’t exist. Just out of date documentation. It did show me the potential dangers of AI. Last night (late last night) Copilot was trying to persuade me my install was corrupt and I needed to flash my new HA Green :scream: That seemed too radical so I turned to humans instead - thank you

As a footnote. For my 1st project I have used my HA Green as a print server to my ancient but trusty HP Laserjet 5M and can now print to it from my phone. It’s been a steep learning curve, but lots of fun.

Lots of fun indeed!!
