New haos User having issues with Terminal

Hi there and thanks for reading.

I am a fresh newbie trying HA, which is now running fine on my own Intel PC.

However, I am having issues with ‘Terminal’ for command line and SSH within Haos, and I have no idea how to fix it.

The App/Service will not start, so if I click on Terminal’ it informs me the App has not started, would I like to start? I click ‘Yes’ but the App never runs, just returns to the ‘App is not running’ message.

I have looked in the logs and have the following log information:

'2026-02-12 06:55:37.777 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.store] Loading add-ons from store: 80 all - 0 new - 0 remove

I am presuming that the Terminal App needs to connect to a socket or service locally?

But I am completely lost and do not know where to look to fix the problem!

Can Anyone point me in the right direction, please?

All the best. I hope I have posted in the correct Forum.

Thanks in advance
Gary

I haven’t touched Terminal & SSH in over 4 years, so the below is generic advice.

Go to the main app page where you see the start option.

Look at the top of the page (or the bottom on mobile). There should be a Configure tab.

You need to fill in the details & configure the app according to your circumstances before you start the app. If you’re stuck, there’s a Documentation tab which explains what each setting does.
