Have been lurking in these forums for a number of years now.
I’m about to close on a house that will need a full renovation.
So I’m trying to get my head around what route to take for HA and plan it out.
In my previous rented home I had a combination of Domoticz (PI3), RFXCOM, LightwaveRF, Hue and Somfy.
Everything has been packed away in storage for the past two years.
Living in a very dumb apartment at the moment!
While I hope to reuse as much gear as possible.
I want to move away from RF for lighting - too slow and only 1-way communication.
I’m currently leaning towards Home Assistant over OpenHab or Domoticz.
Loxone mini-server with a DMX controller for all lighting.
As the house will need a full rewire, I plan to wire everything back to a central point.
Has anyone this setup? I’d be interested to know what hardware you are using?
In terms of inputs, is the done thing retractive switches?
Has anyone managed to get a KNX touch panel working with the above setup?
Some of them aren’t that expensive.
