I’ve recently installed with image onto pi and after the 20 minute wait I was able to get the UI up and running.
Question is I would like to also run another program on pi but I don’t know what the image set the pi user password too, raspberry doesn’t work I get an access denied message when trying to connect with Putty.
Any assistance welcomed.
Sorry you are not able to do this with the standard pi image install.
I think you can install Raspbian on the pi then install HA using the Docker method. This would allow you to run other programs on the pi.
What do you want to install alongside HA?
There are a number of addons you can install from within Hassio.
I have been using Plex plugin to allow an overseas relative to WoL my NAS when required. Plex have disabled the plugins in iOS app and when the web app is updated they will lose ability to wake NAS.

Anyway completely off topic.
Set up a WoL switch in HA.
Get your HA server online with HA Cloud remote or DuckDNS.
Create a user for the famly member to log in with.
They can now log in to your HA and mess with your lights and stuff turn on the NAS.
