New LAN Login Issues - Moved HA to New IP Range

Hey lovely people.

So I recently had to change my routers IP range from the default 192.168.1.1/255 range to a custom range.

I set a new IP for HA on my router and on HA, which i can connect to.
But despite being on the same LAN Home Assisant now gives me this error: Error: Login blocked: User cannot authenticate remotely

How do I fix this? What do I need to do?
The Laptop I’m using is on the same router/LAN. I have no VPN enabled.

Did you by accident choose a “custom range” which isn’t reserved for private networks hence HA interprets the access as a remote one (and your user is set to don’t allow remote logins)?

So my user is set to not allow remote logins.

Tbh, I chose an almost completely random IP range. I didn’t know there were IP ranges reserved for private networks.

Bad idea! Stick with the ones reserved for private networks otherwise you can run in a lots of troubles!

Hey, yeah I didn’t know about those. I have now set a private IP now.

Just to make sure I set it right, I can basically use anything in the place of “x” 192.168.x.1

So 192.168.24.x is fine as 192.168.215.x are both legit?

Yes.

192.168.0.0 – 192.168.255.255 are all private.

Lovely. Thanks. I’m back in and happy again.
