New Music Assistant user - how do I send to Lyrion (Logitech Media Server)

Howdy. I just installed Music Assistant. I have a Logitech Media Server connected to Home Assistant. But I can’t figure out how to send music to my LMS (Lyrion) clients. I’ve added the Slimproto integration to Home Assistant. I can’t figure out where to add my several (Max2play) Lyrion (LMS) clients to Music Assistant. I don’t see any LMS clients / options on the “players” settings tab.

Anyone have advice?

I don’t think that is how it works.

MA is more similar to LMS itself, you add supported providers and players at the top right of the player/provider settings, and HA consolidates and serves that out to the supported players.

edit: you may need to add the ‘home assistant music players’ provider, then select your LMS clients. This will connect players that are not directly supported in MA, from HA to MA.

So it looks like I need to add the Squeezelite provider. When I try to I get the error (I have the slimproto integration active):

Multiple ports are not available: SlimProto control port 3483, Telnet CLI port 9090, JSON-RPC CLI port 9000

I’ve tried disabling the Squeezebox integration but still get that error.

Do I need to remove/disable all of my working Logitech Media Server stuff from HA for Music Assistant to talk to my Squeeze clients?

sorry I don’t have an LMS/squeeze server, but I would not remove anything that is already working outside of MA.

If it works via Home assistant, please re-read what I said about using the ha media player provider, this will add the enabled HA players into MA.

Hello,

Documentation is quite clear:

Multiple instance can create issue.
So the answer is possibly yes.
Avoid to have the HA integration and the MA slimproto at the same time as well.

I finally got my head around it. I had enabled the Home Assistant provider, but not the Home Assistant MediaPlayers provider.
