Hi there, I’m in the same boat.
Does the work around allow auto update and installing the add-ons with no issues.
Thanks
HassOS support pi3+. Is in RC now
VM support is interesting too …unless I’ve missed it previously… possibly a no headache way to get it back onto my old Mac Mini?
I’m so grateful for all the developers who are working tirelessly.
I hope that we’ll see a stable release soon.
This is great, I installed the Release 1 RC2 on my new Raspberry Pi 3 B+ earlier this week and it works like a charm!
Now for the n00b-question… Is there a method to update to RC3, and later to the final release build? Or do I have to reflash my SD-card?
should just be able to hassio ha update via ssh
Where are the instructions on how to install this?
Just download the image and flash it to an SD card and boot.
is this the image?
https://github.com/home-assistant/hassos/releases/download/1.4/hassos_rpi3-64-1.4.img.gz
Yep. That looks right for a Pi3 and is the 64 bit version. That is the one I flashed.
Having now see the hassio is ready for the pi3+ with the new buildroot os and needing to do a reflash of the SD card I thought I would take the opertunity to upgrade my pi2 and 16Gb SD card.
I see there is a 32bit and 64bit version of the hassos
Are there different pi3+ versions and which should I install.
The 64bit one will work on the Pi3B - not really sure why there is even a 32bit version but I installed 64bit on a Pi3B
They’re both pointing to the same file
Hello,
I have the 32bit Hassio image running on Pi 3B+ (over ethernet) and I’m trying to reach Mi Flora Plant sensor without success.
I think the reason is that the Pi 3B+ is using Cypress CYW43455 Wifi/Bluetooth chip, which is different from BCM43xx used on the 3B
There are some drivers provided by Cypress. I guess these need to be included in HassIO to provide Wifi/Bluetooth connectivity for 3B+ ?
Is there any noticeable performance gain with the 3B+ over the 3B? I have everything working, but will be near a MicroCenter later this week and can pickup a “+” if the performance gain is worth it.
Edit: I should note that I’m running Hass.io on HassOS
I tried both versions (32 and 64 bits) of Hassos in my rpi 3b+.
Unfortunately I2C does not work.
I’m having issues also with onvif camera; ffmpeg seems missing.
It would be nice to know what has been implemented and validated and what is not working because of differences in hardware.
Thanks.
I have this problem too with the Xiaomi Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity sensor (Pi 3B+, 64bit Hassio).
But I don’t find any related topic about the new bluetooth chip with hassio. Is there any workaround?
Why is actually the 32-bit version the recommended one? It is tagged as “(recommended)” on the download page:
If I have a 3B+, should I use the 32-bit or 64-bit image?
I believe there have been some issues on the 64 bit image, I would stick to the 32 bit right now.
Im going to change to the 32bit on my 3b+
Im getting an unresponsive Pi every few days, requiring a hard reset (currently on the 64bit)
Hoping the 32bit will sort it
