New zwave usb stick

I have a new zooz z-wave usb dongle…to replace an aeotec I’m selling. I deleted the z-wave integration, rebooted, reinstalled the integration with /dev/serial/by-id/usb-0658_0200-if00 and the stick was found. I started the network…but the only thing found was the stick itself.
How do I get this new stick to connect to my whole z-wave network?

You have to exclude all the nodes and re-add them. The new stick is a new network.

You have to re-include everything. Zwave stores the Network on the Stick.

There is also something called “controller shift” that can transfer the network from one controller to another, but I’ve never seen anyone in the HA ecosystem report doing it. It requires using other software (Silicon Labs PC Controller Software).

Aeotec has a backup program that would allow transfer to another aeotec dongle.

Not sure if possible to use that for transfer to device not aeotec

That really sucks! Seems like a big hole in the zwave standard. Apparently, I have to go to every one of my zwave devices and add it to the new controller/network. I have a lot of different switches/outlets, all with different way to add to a network. Finding the instructions is going to be a big task. Grrrr!

It’s a security feature that prevents people from taking over your network – not a hole. I see this as a pretty major plus that you have to have physical access to each device in order to move it to a new network.
