Newbie as it gets

i have a home assistant green and get error 192.168.2.119 refused to connect.
no idea how to fix this

Not super experienced myself- but we need more context. Was that a message from the browser? Is this the first time you’ve booted it?

Details: how is it connected to the network? What the url and ip listed when you connect a monitor to it?

And remember to add :8123 in the end, since HA does not run on the standard website ports.

Like http://192.168.2.119:8123

Did you check that the IP is correct? Maybe the router issued a new IP to the device if you did not fix it? if it is correct, then as Wally mentioned, make sure port is correct (https:// in case you have Lets encrypt or :8123)

First read:

Then:

  • What you do to get that error or where do you experience it?
  • What were you trying to achieve?
  • Do you have logs?

when turned on this is what’s displayed then after a minute or two screen just goes black

Hi Jason, did you provide a power unit yourself or is one delivered with the Green?
That ‘Low voltage detected’ is not good.
Also, is that all that showing on the boot process, nothing more?
If so it seems that your device is not going through the whole boot-up cycle.

power supply was in the box from them the picture is what it boots then screen just goes black

Did you connect any other device(s) which draws power to another USB port on the Green?

no just plug they gave that plugs in wall Ethernet cord and HDMI nothing else

i agree is it possible to just reload home assistant on it?

The “low voltage detected” rtc warning is caused by the fact you did not add a battery (not included) to it. You can see how to add it here if you want to isolate whether the “date/time is not reliable” warning is the cause of your issues.
