Newly installed Inspelning plugs aren't reporting power with latest core update, plugs already connected to HA still work as expected

I’ve been using Inspelning (US) plugs around the house since I found them late last year. I made an intial purchase, after confirming that they worked I made a couple of larger purchases early this year when Ikea stated they were discontinued. I’ve had no trouble connecting them to HA, and power seems to be reported just fine.

Today, I wanted to add another plug to my setup. This is one from the last batch I purchased, and have had no other issues with. It installed without problems, but all parameters reported (except for on/off) are zero, like there is nothing there.

Thinking maybe I had a bad one, I tried another, and another. All do the same thing. Install, act like a remote switch, and report no power, voltage, current, etc. The parameters are all there, all the entities are correct, but they are all 0. All plugs report the same firmware.

I’ve tried the obvious - rebooting, making sure the system is up to date, tried multiple units. No luck.

I’m running:

Home Assistant Green
v2026.2.1
All integrations are the latest offered by HA

Here’s some diags from the plugs:

New working: This is a "new" working plug - new, meaning that it was installed and attached t - Pastebin.com
Old working: This is an "old" working plug - old meaning it was purchased and installed late - Pastebin.com
New broken: This is a "new" not working plug - it's from the same batch the other "new" work - Pastebin.com

New means the plug is from the latest batch I bought. Old means it’s one I bought late last year. Since the non-working ones are all from the newest batch, yet I know they work because I have others installed, I have to assume that something isn’t being reported right.

Is there something I should look at here? Did something break with the last update, since this is the first one since I updated to 2026.2.1.

I have exactly the same problem. Previous installed plugs are working fine.
Newly bought are not giving any power, voltage or amperage outputs. I can turn them on and off. When i restart HA, i get the current reading, but it doesnt update.

That’s good to know that I didn’t get a bad batch of plugs.

I noticed something else - when I pulled the plug from the outlet, most of the entities became “unavailable.” However, all of the power-related things were still showing 0 instead of unavailable like they should when the device isn’t present.

It’s like the device’s config is pulling those numbers from some unrelated place.

When i try to manually pull the data with “Manage Zigbee Device > Cluster: ElectricalMeasurements > active_power”, it gives the correct reading… (albeit with factor 10, but that’s normal). The normal reading also corrects itself…

Are you using ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT? I’m using ZHA and tried to update the Firmware by manually adding the repo for the devices. There was no new firmware.

I’m using the ZHA integration.

The devices I have all have the same firmware regardless of purchase date - I’m going to assume there will be no updates. I don’t think the plugs themselves are the problem since the ones installed last month work fine.

I can read the measurement from a working device using the method you described (thank you - didn’t know that was there.) I will reinstall a plug tonight and report if I can read the values from it.

Thank you. Will add my two cents to that thread.

Had the same issues. Thanks for your detailed reporting enabling the dev team to solve it!

I just updated to 2026.2.2 and after removing and readding one of the plugs, and after reconfiguring another, all issues seem to be solved. (not sure whether just reconfiguring is sufficient, however).

Good to hear that the update fixed it. I’m away from my device at the moment and don’t want to push major updates until I can touch it. I’ll report back when I’m able to do the update and can verify operation.

I was able to update my system - I have to say that actually getting to the latest core was quite the pain, I had to drop into terminal mode to force it. Home Assistant really needs to be more chatty about why things fail.

Regardless, I went to a device I added last week, hit the reconfigure button, and all is well. I didn’t need to remove and reinstall the device, and the reconfigure completed much quicker than before.

Did the upgrade and saw the new inspellning report usage, which wasn’t the case before that. I didn’t reconfigure or add it. But now a few days later I’m only seeing one fixed usage. It’s hooked to a 3D printer that is running a 14 hour task that I don’t want to interfere with but will try the re-adding to see if that will fix the problem.
