NextDNS - Add on

Hi all,
I made a NextDNS Add on for HA, it's a simple DNS redirect, so you can use Home Assistant as a secure DNS provider (avoiding your ISP sniffing), pointing to a private account on NextDNS.

Give it a go: GitHub - billytkid/ha-addon-nextdns: NextDNS client as a Home Assistant add-on · GitHub

Your Git Readme refers to the Add-on Page and the Add-on Store, neither of which exists. The title and most of your text here is wrong as well. This has been changed months ago. Did you use an AI to help you write this, that is usually the reason for this error, due to the AI being out of date.

Perhaps you should fix all this to prevent new users contacting you for support because they have no idea how to install your software...

(FYI, if you did have an AI help write this code, you would be best off disclosing that fact, or risk having this post disputed for not providing attribution to other authors.)

Isn't DNS a redirector anyway?

What added functionality does your app provide that a correct DNS configuration to a third party DNS provider such as Google, Cloudflare, OpenDNS, PiHole, etc doesn't?

Is HomeAssistant the correct platform for providing DNS routing, or your router configuration, which may benefit your entire LAN?
