NGBS ICON integration to HomeAssistant

Dear All,

I am new to HomeAssistant and one of my first project to integrate my NGBS ICON system to HomeAssistant. I understand that there is no native client for NGBS ICON system therefore I need to use modbus integration to make ICON communicate with HomeAssistant. I managed to set up modbus integration and it looks like that HomeAssistant can communicate with the ICON however I am not able to collect the information from ICON I am looking for since I dont know the modbus register I need to call. I was looking for documentation of the ICON everywhere but I could not find anything. I also tried to scan with ModbusMechanic but it only gives me some values in the 0-10 000 range and I am not able to match these values to any parameter I see on the web client of the ICON. Can you give me a hint or guide me which direction should I continue to get the data from NGBS ICON. At the moment I am looking for data to display - maybe to trigger automation - for each of the six zones,

  • heating / cooling
  • actual temperature
  • requested temperature
  • humidity
  • dew point
  • water temperature

Have you tried their website or contacted them?

I checked their website but there is nothing about modbus registers. I have not contacted them directly yet. I am afraid this is not something they are happy to share but it may worth a try.

No luck. :frowning: NGBS said that the system can not be integrated to HomeAssisstant. Modbus register is only available to BMS systems. This is strange for me since even this forum I have seen people who added NGBS iCON to their Homeassistant system. Any idea how is it possible?

Good news. Even though NGBS said that integration is only possible to BMS systems and documentation is available after signing a contract with them, they have sent me the official document containing modbus register yesterday. I attach this document, maybe somebody else also can use it to integrate NGBS iCON to HomeAssistant. ICON-1 / iCON-2 MODBUS

I was hoping for any type of hw/software integration for this as well, so if you’ve got anything, let me know. I’m willing to invest in this, as the thermostats are the last things I don’t have connected to my HA. The people at NGBS are pieces of s*** and weren’t willing to help me or explain what options I have. Not even for money…

I can not guarantee it works but I can share you what I have done. I see all climates with temperature, humidity, able to set desired temperatures, change heating / cooling mode on the master climate. Let me know if you are interested.

I’m definitely interested, and would be thankful if you could send it over

Hi Dominik,

I have total of 6 climates, 4 on ICON #1 and another 2 on ICON #2.
I created a modbus.yaml which is called by the configuration.yaml
