I would like to put the Nintendo Switch in and out of sleep mode, instead of using the wireless Nintendo Controller. But I can’t find a Nintendo integration, or other solution in order to do this. Any ideas?
I’m interested in this as well since I mostly game with an 8bit do Pro 2 on the couch. And while I can switch inputs on the AVR, the Nintendo needs direct intervention by me.
But from what I understand how it works on the right JoyCon and the Pro controller, it’s IR based, so could be replicated in principle with an ESP and a cheap blaster, no?
I was looking into this, building a python script that could listen for a MQTT message and turn the Nintendo Switch on or off using GitHub - Brikwerk/nxbt: Control your Nintendo Switch through a website, terminal, or macro.. However, it’s not very reliable and cannot turn the unit on like the pro controller. A post I came across on reddit, there was a claim that a particular ethernet adapter would keep the unit from “sleeping” entirely. Bought it… and while the unit now gets an IP through wire, the problem is still the same
