Hi everyone,
I’ve been stuck on a frustrating issue with my Zigbee2MQTT setup and can’t figure it out. Hoping someone here can help.
My setup:
• Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Max (connected via LAN, not directly via USB)
• Zigbee2MQTT
• Philips Hue Bridge (used for comparison/testing)
The problem:
Zigbee2MQTT shows the dongle as connected no errors in the logs about the connection. But when I click “Start pairing”, absolutely nothing happens. No devices, no join attempts, nothing.
For comparison: the exact same devices are instantly picked up by my Hue Bridge. So the devices are definitely broadcasting.
Have you clicked “permit join”?
Yes I have tried that I am looking at every setting now but cant find the problem.
Try removing power to the Hue bridge. Click permit join, and then put a bulb (I am assuming you have Hue bulbs since you have the bridge?) into pairing mode by pressing and holding down I and 0 on a Hue remote at the same time while holding the remote close to a bulb. Hold the buttons down until the bulb flashes, keep holding until you get stable brightness again.
Try it on a bulb close to the Sonoff.
I dont have such a switch, I also have some innr spots en tried the 6 times on off trick.
Removing the hue bridge didnt worked i already tried that.
Hue bulbs should enter pairing mode if you remove them from the existing Hue network, have you tried that? Remove from Hue → power off Hue bridge → permit join in Z2M.
Yes I have tried that. Will try it tomorrow again.
It works now still dont know why but finally.
Resetting the hue bulbs where difficult but found a way.
