No more access via IP adress through app since update

I updated my ubuntu server which runs home assistant via docker.
Then I experienced problems accessing HA through the app and updated the app also.

Now I can’t access HA through the app anymore, only via webbrowser from my laptop.

unable to connect to home assistant
server or proxy hostname lookupfailed, please check that the URL is a valid home assistant URL

I have been using IP adresses to access my ha just fine but now after the update this doesn’t work anymore.
I can’t resolve internal names currently so this is not an option for the moment.

any ideas why after the update I don’t have any more access through the app?

Hi, so the IP address of your HA is still the same as before: have you checked the server settings in the companion app?

the app on my android I upgraded via f-droid.
There is no more communication possible since I upgraded my ubuntu server via apt-get update and upgrade.

If I try to install a new server on the app it just can not find the server when I type the IP in manual.
the laptop communicates via this IP fine.

Are you using container installation

or supervised installation?
Because with docker supervised random things might be starting to break because, deprecated…

lots of gibberish here :slightly_smiling_face:
I know you guys are just trying to help but please take it easy on me.
yes I have an ubuntu server running on a laptop and installed HA via docker.
what is “supervised docker”?
“supervised installation” vs “docker supervised” I can’t follow youm sorry.

it’s ubuntu & docker …
what other information can I give you so that you will be able to help me or answer my question? I need guidance please.

Just trying to help you better by understanding what your installation is.
