No switch entity on z2m switches (and there was ages ago), what happened?

A while ago every zigbee switch would have an entity for its state and it was possible to add those to history graphs, etc, and as a bypass switch in Blacky’s blueprints.

But after some update this was gone and I wonder why. Say, an Ikea Rodret switch has identify, update, battery, voltage, lqi but none of them is a switch. And, annoyingly, all possible actions are not available in the automation editor until I do them first on the actual switch. Say, long click is not available for selecting for automation until I do click for long period on the actual button (but this may have been always like that?).

Is there a way to bring those entities back?

And what is “identify” for? The switch does not anything when I click on “press”, does not even blink, and yet it works.
