I’ve been working on a case for an esp32 case that’s snap fit fits 38 pin esp 32 and needs no soldering, I’m totally bad at soldering and I’m sure others are too so I made a case that’s perfect for us people lol.
The case and wall insert will be posted to Bambu labs maker world once I figure out the powering solution
Edit: this is for permanent install application the case does have usb c port for easy setup and interchangeable front and back plates for easy customization ex: print your own front plate with your logo and print your and or choose choose your back plate based on your mounting application, simple screw hole back plate, screw hole with power output hole, etc. all DuPont cables fit in case easily tight fit no rattle of components when closed either, mmWave sensor pressed firmly to the front lid for optimal signal.
Its actually quite easy to do and just takes the effort of changing your attitude from, " it’s hard and therfore ill quit before even trying" to an attitude of, " I can do it and im going to learn how to do it!" and then challenge yourself to take the road with challenges instead of the easy road where you dont gain anything…
Thats it! Im going to pick up a box of Wheaties and ill be over at 5am to start your Soldering Boot Camp!!
In all seriousness though you may have found a shortcut for this particular situation and avoided doing any soldering but, its literally a mandatory skill to have because things will need soldered quite frequently as you progress and do more esp stuff and this is why im coming ovet to whoop you inyo shape starting with soldering iron curls first thing in the morning!
I agree soldering is a world changer, it will open your creativity to try new stuff, you don’t need to spend much, a soldering iron can go as 5 bucks or less
I never knew about these soldering practice kits you can buy so, i learned the expensive way where you learn by destroying things and having to purchase them a second time… I would recommend you try the learning kit like these.Soldering practice kit
They also have ones that are fun to do and the kits can be things like a little BT speaker, an alarm clock with an lcd display and all kinds of other kits you can make while practicing your soldering!
Here is one that you build a cable tester to ethernet, usb and a couple other types! Things like this are actually quite useful to have with your tools and i know when i bought my ethernet cable tester it cost more than this kit and it only tested one flipping type of cable!
I have a soldering iron and tried to solder some esp32c3 to ld2410 into some tiny cases i printed out, i quit lol was planning to return the machine, but your right and i do have some more sensors to make. I gotta install a bathroom exhaust vent/fan and another esp sensor for humidity + temp to control it. addition more of these sensors throughout the house to control mini splits for heating / cooling and dehumidify so we can run as cost effective as possible.
