Non-Cloud Connecting Thermostat

Hi all,

I looking for a thermostat that connects to HA without the need for it to go through a cloud service. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

My home has a electric AC and a gas heater (North America). All I need is for something that HA can connect to - it doesn’t need to have all the smart features. I plan on creating all the automations inside HA based on the temps in different rooms.

I’d really rather not have to download an app in order to set-up or run the thermostat. I’ve looked at the Meross matter thermostat but it seems to need their app to set-up.

Thanks!

Zigbee or Z-wave.

Either. I am new to HA and smart homes, and have not yet decided on which protocol (other than WiFi) to use yet.

It was not a question  If you want a local thermostat, use Zigbee or Z-Wave (or wifi if it is local). What model I cannot tell you since I do not live in your continent. All Zigbee or Z-wave products are cloudless if you use a local coordinator with software like Z2M or ZHA

Honeywell TH6320ZW

There is a WiFi version but I have not used it so not sure if it wants to use their cloud

EDIT
The model above is zwave if that was not clear

Ah yeah I have been looking for a zigbee or z-wave thermostat, though couldn’t see any that works for any that works with the HVAC set up I have (only really see baseboard heating thermostats). Other ones I see, like the Honeywell T6 or Centralite Pearl, don’t see to be available anywhere
