Have been now using home assitant for more than 5years. the continuous upgrades have wasted many of hours work. latest upgrade killed my setups again. have complained before but ivory towers removed my post. it is a shame it is so user unfriendly now. all those 3rd party integraters have been let down.
Hi David, would you mind describing what your problem is so that the forum here can help you. Your post just looks like general frustration.
Yes HA may not be for you.
I have been running two instances for five years and both are rock solid and with every update HA just gets better.
Of course, just waiting for the day where I get software or hardware failure. Plan for the worst but hope for the best.
Sounds like a PEBKAC error or a Layer 8 issue
Curious about your system/setup and the problems you observed.
I was running an RPi with HA as container for a few years and now HA is a proxmox VM and both seem to work fine and have never had issues on updates.
People are more than willing to help if you share what issues you’re having.
OP has posted something similar over on the Homey forum. It’s still completely unclear what exactly the issues are, and it feels like just a rant.
Hey David!
What a coincidence. We had the exact same problem but found the easy fix. Now everything is stable running again without any hickups ![]()

i didnt say i then didnt fixed it. but it did stop home assistant running fully.
For us it now always works for years already. Fix was really easy to apply ![]()
You are still very subtile in your “descriptions” however you might understand by now, that we all here are aware of your " Homey Journey " so please continue there, as they seems to be more use to ignorant and pointless “discussions”
Your “arguments” in Homey Community also shows that you should stick to your various “Brand Hubs/Apps” , and you don’t seems to understand the technology, behind anything, and basically just complains about that “Nothing works The Same”
Where ever you got that idea from, that it should !
Great journey ahead ![]()
@davidjbwatson Homey sounds like a great choice ![]()
I have no idea what this thread is about… ![]()
So you fixed it too! Congrats ![]()
Then maybe let gemini make a summary, i think it will not make more clear btw
You guys simply have to follow OP’s “explanations” in The Homey Community, because He seems to “abandon” HA, because it doesn’t work the same as his Brand Phone-Apps and Hubs, so He bought a Homey-hub, which does not works the same, as in HA , because Tuya has … … continuing at
Op’s Homey Experience
Sorry, wasnt being serious really. This OP is ranting about integrations platforms while his issue is with tuya, which i can relate to, but in the end he just wants sitting frontrow without spending premium.
I totally agree with the topic. I used HA from the get go and it always was something to rely on. Now every time I expect the frontend to be gone and most of the time it is gone and you need to pull the plug and restart. When I relogin there is always an update of HA to be installed and I feel there is a coincidence. I don’t know why but the sheer presence of an update seems to crash it. I use a powerful notebook power supply and as long as there is no update it works than it crashes and voila there is an update to be installed. Don’t want that anymore.
Fine don’t use it.
Open Source is not for you then.
Enjoy the world of LG…
In the future coming over here and kicking the hornets nest is not advised.
