Brand new to HA. Spun up a VM on my unraid build and am having a blast configuring it. I’ve come across bottlecap dave’s Octopus Energy implementation and it worked straight away but I’m having an issue with interpreting the data.
I was hoping to be able to see the current consumption for both electricity and gas as I can see on my smart meter. (British Gas Geo something)
I don’t really understand what the accumulated ones mean? Is it the current total consumed for today?
I also added these to the Energy dashboard but nothing is showing up there. But the costs show £10 for electricity which is wild so it’s not todays for sure.
Do you have an Octopus Home Mini as this will pull live data from your smart meter every few seconds to update your usage instead of waiting for your usage to come in via the DCC.
The home mini is free and easy to install, although you may need to wait. It took a few months for me, but that may have changed.
I applied but haven’t received yet. So, whilst waiting, do you have any idea like, what does “previous accumulated” mean? Is it last days usage? Today’s usage? Finding it a bit confusing
