Odd behavior on only 2 phones being home/not_home

HI,

in my family we have 2 iPhones that apparently connect/disconnect frequently on certain moments while 4 other phones do what is expected, how home while on wifi, and not_home while disconnected from wifi. I have them all setup via the asuswrt device scanner, and this is the history_graph which is self explanatory:

21

Since automations are built upon their connection being on/off the issue becomes is also self explanatory

Any hints to what might be checked to solve this? Would there be a setting on the phones maybe? Or something else in the HA setup?

thx for looking,
Marius

Are the other phones also iPhones?
iPhones normally switch WiFi off every so often to maintain battery, this is one of the reason I stayed away from ping like commands on WiFi or bluetooth and now use owntracks that works much better.

yes they are, that why i was so surprised to see the other 4 behave correctly  Must admit one of those is away, as in out of the home, so that would explain for a non switching state.

Checking my automations and subsequent notifications also shows those 2 phones all of the time, even with some templates thing care of attributes changing and a time counter…
