I’m sure the people using this specific setup are few and far between but hoping I get lucky and someone has run into this issue.
So I have an Echo Show 5 that has been ‘de-Amazoned’ in that it now runs a clean version of android. I’m using it as a little control panel using a Home Assistant dashboard that runs in the Fully Kiosk browser and the screen is always on, no motion detection or anything fancy like that.
The issue I’m running into is that, if I don’t interact with the dash for a while and then go to tap a button it gives an error about the connection and has to, I guess, reconnect a few seconds later and then I have to press the button again for it to actually trigger anything
I currently have it setup to reload the dash occasionally and while it seems to avoid the issue, I find it quite annoying as the Echo Show is in my line of sight the majority of the time so I’m forever seeing it refresh
In the off chance someone else has this setup and ran into the same issue, could you solve it or is it just some inherent limitation of the Echo Show running non-Amazon android.
