Odroid N2+ RMA (don't buy directly from hardkernel.com)

I had bought a odroid at the event in December when the blue was introduced.
Now my USB ports don’t work anymore and contacted hardkernel.
Below is stated what I received from them. I have never seen a company which gives a 8 week warranty. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
If I sent it with postnl it will cost me about 60 euro’s just for shipping(back and return).
I had to pay extra taxes (45 euro’s) when they shipped it because they lacked to set a low price on the package and now they ask me to set it to 15$.

In the Netherlands there is a default warranty of 2 years if you buy a item.
I had no choice to order it from another company because I wanted the limited version and support home assistant.

Maybe it is something to support other hardware with the same chipset but has a better company support because if this is the way hardkernel supports their customers, something awesome as home assistant should in my opinion stay away from it.

Dear,

Your RMA form is attached. Please send your product with the attached RMA form and declare the value of your parcel as $15. You have to send the parcel within 3 working days from the date of RMA form issue.

Here is our Warranty policy. Please closely check.

.

- Warranty period

- 8 weeks

. During Warranty Period

- A shipper pays for the shipping cost in any case for RMA.

You need to pay for the shipping cost from your country to our office, and Hardkernel pay for the shipping cost from Korea back to your country.

Hardware damage by user's misuse is not covered by warranty.

. After Warranty Period

- RMA requester should pay for the shipping cost for both way.

The products might not be fixed if the hardware damage is serious (i.e., CPU/PMIC/PCB is broken permanently) Note! There might be additional service charge if the hardware needs any rework/repair process.
  1. you are right their warranty period is awful.
  2. There is definitely a way to ruin the usb ports in software on the N2+. It happened a bit on the N2+ when it was first released and people installed coreelec. Coreelec has since been fixed, but the ruination is still possible on other OSes, if they haven’t been fiixed. (Sorry that is no consolation)
